Parker-Hale Reproduction 1858 Enfield – .577 Cal
$1,299.00
For sale is a Parker-Hale Reproduction 1858 Enfield in .577 Cal. Serial number- 4385. This rifle is in great condition. There is some powder residue in the bore but it does not appear that the bore is rusted. Originally an Enfield Pattern 1853 rifle, the model 1858 was a shorter "two band" variant with a 33" tapered round (1-1/16" to 7/8") barrel with a rich, even blue and a 1:56" twist. Which calling this rifle shorter the shorter version is funny considering the barrel is still 33 inches! There is a British proof mark on the top of the barrel next to the case hardend hammer. Pattern 1853 rifles were used in wars around the world by the British Empire as it expanded or defended colonial territory. It was also the second most common rifle found on the battlefields of the American Civil War. Rifle production was mostly located in Union States at the time so Confederate Army purchased 1853 pattern rifles in mass from the British. This reproduction would make a perfect rifle for a Civil War reenactor or collector as Parker-Hale reputedly made in the original arsenal using the original drawings of the 19th-century originals. V1-F2 Barrel Length: 33 Bore condition: Good
Serial Number: 4385
