This pistol is in good condition. Produced in the famous French town of St.Etienne from 1801 to 1807, the "AN IX" (meaning 9th year of the 1st French Republic) was used by the cavalry before and during the reign of Emperor Napoleon. Elected Emperor in December 1804, Napoleon made sure his military had the best firearms of the day. True to the original with brass furniture and American walnut stock.
