For sale is a Steyr bnz Karabiner Mauser 98k bolt-action rifle in 8mm. Serial number- 8965g. This rifle is in excellent condition all serials are matching and it comes with an original leather sling. It appears that this rifle was pieced together or was scrambled together for sale overseas. There are no import marks so it made its way to the United States post-1960s when import marks were required. The receiver has a bnz Steyr mfg stamp, and also 77 and WaA623 proof marks all over the rifle. The Karabiner 98k was shortened version of the Mauser 98 used by the German Army during WWI. It served as the standard-issue rifle for the German Army through most of WWII until production shifted to building the Stg 44 at the end of the war.
