Winchester Model 1873 2nd Model Saddle Ring Carbine – .44-40 WCF

Winchester Model 1873 2nd Model Saddle Ring Carbine – .44-40 WCF

$2,999.00

For sale is a Winchester Model 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine 2nd Model lever-action carbine in .44-40 WCF. Serial number – 3069. This rifle is in excellent condition and we found the cleaning kit in the butt of the rifle and is included with the firearm. However, please note that this rifle has been refinished. We do not know when or who refinished it. Due to the refinish some of the stamps are very light, including the serial number. Although the serial appears to be very low we cannot confirm if this is the full serial. If the serial number is this low then it would correspond with a very desirable 1st model Model 1873. However, most of the parts including the dust cover point to it being a 2nd model. The bore is in fantastic condition, the rifling is still clear, and looks great especially for a 140-year-old rifle. Also note: we cannot confirm the caliber as it cannot be found anywhere on the rifle. However, the "Standard" caliber for the 1873 was .44-40 WCF

The Model 1873 is one of the most famous rifles in American History. It is often coined "The Gun That Won The West" and served pioneers, Native warriors, cattle rustlers, outlaws, and lawmen during the Old West. It often features in Western Movies alongside the Colt Single Action Army as both guns could be chambered with the same round.
