For sale is a ASP Navy Model 1858 black powder revolver in .36. Serial number- 054969. This revolver is in good condition with and excellent bore, however there is some surface wear and rust on the outer portions(please see photos for exact condition). During the Civil War, the U.S. Navy purchased about 4,300 of the 28,000 Remington New Model Navy revolvers produced. Manufactured from 1863-1878 and now commonly known as the 1858 Navy, this medium-powered .36 caliber cap-and-ball sixgun was well liked by Union sailors and others who packed them. The top strap design gave the handgun more strength and aided in preventing exploded percussion caps from falling into the revolver's innards and jamming it when the gun is cocked for folllow up shots.
