For sale is an IBM M1 Carbine semi automatic rifle in .30 carbine. Serial number- 3870639. This M1 Carbine, manufactured by the International Business Machine Corporation in 1944, features an "IBM" stamped barrel and an Auto Ordnance "AO" stamped receiver as well as a squared "P" proof mark on the grip. This M1 Carbine is in great condition and comes with 1 magazine. The M1 carbine (formally the United States Carbine, Caliber .30, M1) is a lightweight semi-automatic carbine that was a standard firearm for the U.S. military during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The M1 carbine was produced in several variants and was widely used by paramilitary and police forces around the world, and also became a popular civilian firearm after World War II. Of the estimated six-million M1 carbines produced from 1941 to 1945, the 346,500 carbines made by IBM was a small 5.7 percent.
