For sale is a L.C. Smith Field Grade side by side shotgun in 12 gauge. Serial number- 203055. This LC Smith Field Grade features a 30 inch "Armor Steel" barrel with an ejector and a good bore. Has "L.C. Smith" stamped on both sides of the receiver and "L.C. Smith Field Grade" and "Hunter Arms CO." stamped on the top of the barrels. Has 3 serial numbers, one on the barrel, one on the flats of the stock and on on the forend. The forend serial number does not match the other two. There is no indicated choke.

The LC Smith Field Grade was manufatured from 1912 until 1950. Field Grade production began in 1912, and it was the lowest grade available. The 1913 catalog said: "This gun is especially designed for those requiring a cheap, sound and plainly finished weapon. It is particularly useful for field and marsh where rough usage is required. The shooting powers of this gun can be relied upon to be fully equal to those of the higher grades. Field Grade production totaled 199,384 accounting for 82% of the total production of L.C. Smith side lock shotguns during the period of 1912 to 1950.

PLEASE NOTE that some of the finish on the stock is worn off and the rubber buttstock is very dried out and in poor condition. There has also been a number written on the inside of the forend.
