For sale is a Weatherby Mark V Europa Deluxe bolt-action rifle in .300 Win Mag. Serial number- H140298. This rifle looks to have been manufactured sometime between 1974 and 1981. PLEASE NOTE: This rifle features a threaded barrel with a thread cap installed as well. The deluxe grade checkered European-style Monte Carlo walnut stock rates excellent and has a few small dings and other light handling marks. The stock features a rosewood forend tip and grip cap. The stock also features a more tapered forend tip and a small amount of drop at the butt that is more consistent with European rifles than the usual American Weatherby style. Originally designed as a 9-lug, push-feed action, the Mark V rises head and shoulders above other bolt-action rifles in a number of regards. First and foremost, it has long been considered the strongest action in the world — built to harness the increased pressures of Roy Weatherby’s signature cartridges. Another is Mark V’s lowest-in-class bolt rotation, clocking in at 54°. Less rotation allows for quicker reloads and the ability to mount scopes as close to the bore as possible.
