For sale is an Arisaka Type 99 bolt-action rifle in 7.7x58mm. Serial number- 29712. This rifle is a series 31 and features a Toyo Kogyo arsenal stamp and a rare dust cover. It also comes with a straight quillon-style bayonet made by Toyoda Jidoshoki Seisakusho (Toyoda Automatic Loom Works) under Nagoya supervision, it also comes with the sheath. Series 30-35 rifles were manufactured a the Toyo Kogyo arsenal between 1939-1945.

The Arisaka Type 99 was the standard issue of the Imperial Japanese military during the 2nd Sino-Japanese War and World War II. Rifles with the chrysanthemum intact are likely war trophies returned to the US by troops that fought in the Pacific War. Please ensure that you carefully examine all of the photos provided in order to accurately assess the condition of the rifle. Note; all the serials appear to be matching except on the dust cover. The word or name "Churchill" is on the butt plate of the rifle. There is a crack on the stock but it still has the airplane sights.
