For sale is a Mauser K98 bolt-action rifle in 8mm Mauser. Serial number-5534. Lots of Nationalist Socialist Worker Party stamps are present. This is a standard late WWII K98 rifle with a "byf" which means it was manufactured by the Mauser factory in 1943. The receiver ring is marked with a "135" proof over "byf 44", and "Mod. 98" marked on the sidewall. The left rear side of the barrel is stamped with Nazi proofs but the serial appears to be partially missing. However, all the other serials are 5534 and are matching on the bolt, action, bolt release lever, and magazine floor plate. The bore looks good, there is some frosting or pitting in the bore but the rifling is clear! Unfortunately, it has been sporterized but might make a great restoration project.
